Joint Venture Marketing: Attracting JV Partners For Maximum Traffic And Profits

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

By definition, a joint venture (aka JV) is where two people work together on some kind of project for the mutual benefit of both parties. It is “joint” as it involves more than one person, and it is usually the members launching out into new territory – or introducing a new product – that is the “venture.”

Often in a joint venture arrangement, one partner has the new idea or product, and another member has the capital or assets required to get the project off the ground. It may happen that several funding partners are collaborating to get a project launched.

If you have the product, the things your joint venture partner may bring to your relationship could be a mailing list, a website or a forum to promote your venture. They may also have the monetary resources that you need to continue your project. Whatever it is you need in a joint venture partner, you would have better chances of finding them as you build relationships with people in your field.

Finding JV Partners

The types of people you want to be joint venture partners are those who are involved in your niche, or those whose products or services compliment yours. Always have your eyes and ears open for those potential partners that are all around you, especially on the Internet.

Some strategies to find JV partners involve direct correspondence with people who publish well-read newsletters. Newsletters that you find value in reading would probably have an audience that is interested in your product.

You may also choose to join various membership sites that give you a contact point for affiliate promoters.

Another way is to browse the search results you get on Google, looking for web sites that are apparently a good match for the product being promoted.

An example of using Google to look for a joint venture partner would go something like this: You have created a new video game and need money to launch the sales of your software. You would search Google by typing in ‘video game development’ or ‘gamers newsletters’. Go to the websites that have posted Google ads for the keywords you have searched.

These businesses are paying money to get these ads posted in this niche. This tells you that they are more determined and serious about being profitable. Sponsored links indicate potential partners. Examine their websites; and join the message boards, forums or lists that are connected to them. Websites with a thriving community indicates that they are on the right track and are possibly ideal partners for you.

Optional: Once you have pinpointed a potential JV partner, find out if they are attending conferences and seminars in the field. Attend the same seminars and you will have a chance for personal contact and networking.

A better way to locate JV partners is to rent a booth at the event, instead of just being an attendee. You have the opportunity to form joint ventures with other booth people or with featured speakers. That is a big boost to your visibility and credibility.

Contacting Or Meeting JV Partners

When meeting up with potential JV partners, you could exchange business cards or contact details.

If you’ve found them online and you won’t have any chance of meeting them face to face, search for the “Contact Us” information in their sites. There are also other websites that could help you search out contact information if you cannot find what you need. You could do a Whois search, or use Google or Yahoo yellow pages to find their contact data.

Making A Good First Impression And Building Relationships With JV Partners

Your approach to a potential JV Partner may make or break the deal. Use some of the following ideas below for a successful initial discussion.

Like all other times where you want to make an excellent first impression, your research into the background of your prospective partner can be vital.

Learn all about what they do, and read anything they have published. Sign up to their memberships sites and become acquainted with the type of people who subscribe. Make sure that your product is a good match for their existing customer base.

When attending marketing seminars and networking, go out and meet as many potential JV partners as you can. You never can tell when a drink in a hotel bar or at a casual dinner at a seminar can lead to a successful joint venture.

JV partners are beneficial to your online business, but you have to answer the question: “What is in it for them?” It would certainly mean that you give them a fair and generous share in the profits of your product. It may all be worth it, as you have the potential to see a massive sales increase due to their promotion.

It is also a matter of explaining your similar interests to them. Offer to be of assistance to them and they would likely reciprocate. Continue to build and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships.

Your JV partners can boost your traffic and earnings. With the right moves and strategies, making those highly profitable partnership connections is very achievable.

Ezine Advertising: How To Generate Massive Traffic And Profits With Ezine Advertising

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

It’s rare for any online business to generate traffic and flourish without the benefits of advertising.  The Internet offers the best advertising opportunities of all time, but many people wonder how to get the most value for their advertising dollar.  In order to get the targeted audience you need, you might consider advertising in ezines or newsletters.

Ezine advertising is one of the most effective methods to gain traffic to your site.  Since an ezine is usually targeted towards a particular group, you can reach an audience that’s already interested in your product or service.

How To Choose The Ideal Ezines To Advertise In

First, ascertain how large the readership of the ezine is.  The best ad in the world won’t get much response from a readership of only a couple hundred people.

Make sure they have the traffic needed to justify your expenditure.  Many ezines list their readership numbers, but don’t believe their data. Research the ezine by looking on the Internet for comments about it, criticisms or praise.

Another way to find the right ezine for your ads is to join an ezine directory service.  You’ll have access to hundreds of ezines, their readership and subscriber information; and most of those directories are searchable using subjects or keywords.  You can easily find which ones are offering promotional rates for your ad; and if you’re lucky, you might even find free advertising space!

Remember to check out their reputation too, because some of the less scrupulous ezines will gladly take your money but not run your ads.  It is recommended to stay away from co-op (bulk) ezine advertising.  Unfortunately, co-ops have developed a reputation for deception and dishonesty.

An excellent way to find the right ezine to advertise in is to subscribe to the ones you are considering.  If you receive an email requiring you to confirm your subscription, you might have found a quality ezine with dedicated readers.  There might also be information in the emails about advertising rates, which will shorten your search.

Finally, make sure that your product or service is something that the ezine’s readers would be interested in.  If you have a great new method for stock market trading, it won’t get much reaction in an ezine that promotes frugality.

Now that you’ve found some ezines that suit your purposes, have a strong subscriber base and whose subjects compliment your product or service, the next step is to write email promo ads that sell.

How To Create High-Converting Email Messages and Ads

Obviously, solo ads would reap the best results as you are not competing with other ads and the whole message is focused on your offer.  When writing solo ads, make sure you write an attention-grabbing, benefit-packed subject line.

Each sentence in the body of the email message should also sway the reader to continue reading and appeal to their desires and interests.

And even though it’s a solo ad, you don’t need to make it long; lengthy emails might trigger the email filters to block your message.  The role of the solo ad is to tease or convince the reader to click or go to your website.  It is the website’s role to do all the selling for the prospect.

If you’re on a tighter budget, you could opt to go for the classified ads or sponsor ads. They’re less effective than the solo ads, as they compete with other ads and content for the reader’s attention.  But it might still be worth it as long as your message is interesting and catchy enough.  If possible, choose your ad to appear in the upper portion of the ezine.

Here’s a moneymaking tip: Get feedback from business associates or contacts.  Is your ad interesting enough for them?  Did your message grab their attention?  You’ll only get one shot with each reader, so make the most of it.

If your ad lacks the ability to attract attention or if it’s poorly written, you should consider hiring a writer.  Since the response to the ad is only as good as the ad itself, it will be more of an investment than expenditure.

Online Advertising Methods To Avoid

One that still enjoys popularity is the Pay to Click (aka PTC) format.  Your ad is listed on a page with other ads and presented to a subscriber who has signed up to be paid a cent or fraction of a cent for viewing ads for fifteen to thirty seconds.

This is a very poor way to advertise, even though the rates are very affordable.  Subscribers to PTCs will click on your ad, but the only time the majority of them look at it is to check the countdown clock.  Meanwhile, they’ve navigated to another window that contains yet another PTC they are working on.

Most people who click ads at PTCs have no intention of looking at the ads and rarely buy anything they see advertised.  They are there to make money, not to spend it.  As you can see, there are certainly methods of advertising that just don’t pay.

Another form of advertisement that really isn’t advisable is the pop-up or peel-away ad.  Annoying potential customers isn’t the best way to attract business.  The fact is that no matter how interesting your ad is, most people will avoid your product if they are forced to view the ad before they can access the page they wanted.

In conclusion, the only true way to succeed in your advertising campaigns is to test and track your results.  In due time, you’ll know which email promo ads convert the highest, and which ezines or online services are the best places to advertise in.
